Our Story and Values
At The Wash Tub, we have been doing our best to provide our customers convenience, friendly service, and a strong sense of community for over 30 years.
It all started with my parents, Al and Dorothy Vizza, in the 1980s. My dad was working with car wash entrepreneurs, helping them plan locations and install equipment across South Texas. Then in 1986, we had the crazy idea to go out on our own and open our first car wash on Blanco road in San Antonio.
We are proudly still a family owned and operated company, all built around my parents’ values of hard work, honesty, community, and lots of laughs. I am proud to say that our employees display that work ethic and integrity each and every day. Our employees are the best in the business and have made The Wash Tub into what is today: 25 locations, with over 1,200 employees, and washing 1.7 million cars annually.
At The Wash Tub, we like to treat each and every customer like my parents might have treated a guest in their home – minus the plate of spaghetti though! I hope we get the opportunity to serve you soon. And as my father famously used to say, “Go make a nice day”!

From Al Vizza who was still going to work in his 80s, to all the grandchildren who’s first summer jobs were always drying off cars, The Wash Tub prides itself on being family owned and operated. We started here in San Antonio in the 1980s and have had four generations of Vizza’s work with us since then.

At The Wash Tub, we don’t just want to clean your car. We want to build a community. Through great customers and the best employees, we strive to do that each and every day with hospitable service and community involvement.
